9 February 2012

Woke again this morning after a restless night. We had a huge thunder storm last night, the lightening was really bright and the thunder rolled around the hills for seemingly ages. I counted, one of the thunder rolls went for 18 seconds!!!

I managed to get Winnie to come out with me again this time looking for a new jumper coz I broke the zipper on mine. Wandered for a while finding so many different ones and all totally different prices…no idea which to get but my fingers were icy. Also found another little trekking shop in a back alley way that can do my sleeping bag and sleeping bag liners much cheaper =). Headed back to the hotel then to meet up with the others and then off for breakfast.

I finally decided on which coat to get and raced back to the place, then to meet up with the others at LeBistro. The ‘Healthy breakfast’ for me this morning, 2 pieces of toast, fried tomato, omelet egg, coleslaw (shredded lettuce with some saucy stuff) and honeyed banana (so so nice). Finished that and then we split up again. Dad and Mum went of to Chabahil to talk with sister K and Hannah, Kathryn, Winnie and I went back to the hotel before going out for a wander again.

We wandered for a while then met up with the others at the hotel to catch a taxi to Dhumbarahi for Prayer meeting. We arrived there at 4pm having been told that is when it started. When we got there, Jonah was the only one there and sister Punam arrived shortly later. Mum and dad arrived about 5pm and still no others had arrived. We started shortly later and Darren dealt with the wilderness wanderings, was really great.

We stayed there and talked for a while before heading off. We walked from Sukedhara to Chabahil where sister Punam went home then caught three taxis. We stopped to drop Jonah off near Calapul and then were back to Thamel.

Our taxi driver actually had us terrified!!! He was going so fast across the really uneven road…our potholes are nothing in comparison. I hit my head on the window three times even though trying desperately not to.

Finally arrived back in Thamel with my stomach feeling like jelly beans we had bounced around so long. Into Gilingches then where I had buff momo with fries and a glass of sprite…love momo!!! Finished up there about 9.30pm and headed back to the hotel. Into bed and off to sleep for a more restful night than last night!!!

Time spent walking (approximately): 195mins (3.25 hours)
Amount spent on food: 430rs – A$5.15 (exchange rate – A$1 = 83.5rs)
Water – 10rs
Breakfast – 190rs
Snacks – 100rs
Dinner – 230rs
